Sunday, Elul 21, 5781. August 29, 2021.  Shalom! World. Turnov Jewish Cemetery. Sobotecka,  Turnov - Czech Republic.  The Jewish cemetery in Turnov dates back to the 17th century. The land for a Jewish cemetery was purchased by Albrecht of Wallenstein as early as in the 1625 and the oldest surviving tombstone goes back to 1649. During its existence, it was expanded twice. The last burial took place here in 1956. At present, there is a bridge of the motorway passing through the town in the direction of Jicin over a part of the cemetery, which was planned in the late seventies and was constructed in 1987-91. Since 1994, the cemetery has been administered by Matana, a joint-stock company founded by the Federation of Jewish Communities for the purpose of caring for real estare.  Jewish cemeteries were usually located on slopes or otherwise unfavourable places that the christian society had little interest in. The Vinohradská is a hiden gem inside the wide world of Praha atractions, and the smart traveler will find the Pavilion Shopping Mall. It's a perfect place to stroll around wonderful buildings architecture and Cafés. A good place to drink, the Mill Café is an artists' hangout like David Cerniis a regular costumer. . Linked to Kampa Island by a wooden footbridge.  Originally an Early Baroque building, the mill underwent rebuilding many times after lying in ruins. In its time, it has served as a joiner's workshop, and has housed flats. In 1995, it returned to its original function, but npw coffee is ground instead of flour, the sound of chatter replaces the gentle turning of the waterwheel.  Mlynská offers the standard Café menu, with sandwiches, hummus and such like. The pub offers something traditional: beer with bread and lard... for example... In addition, it tends to be free of tourists crowds.
