The Vernichtungslager ( extermination camp )  in Treblinka was built in the spring of 1942 near na existing penal labor on na área of 17 hectares. The camp was surrounded by a high barbed wire fence camouflaged with interwoven vegetation in order to hide what was going on inside. Anti-tank obstacles and rolls of barbed wire were placed outside the fence. Watch towers were also placed in various parts  of the camp. The staff consisted of  25-30 Germans and Austrians who supervised the camp, and of guards company of some 100 men, mostly Ukrainian orygin, Dr Irmfried Eberl was appointed the first commanding officer of  the camp, later replaced by Franz Stangl. Kurt Franz was the deputy commanding officer. The first transports of people, consisting of Jews deported from the Warszawa ghetto, 22 July 1942. Often likened to Anne Frank, the Jewish artist was shaped by the Nazis' rise to power and by a suppressed Family history  of suicide, before her life was cut short at Auschwitz in 1943. She has inspired plays, an opera, a movie and an award-winning French novel, and is the subject of a forthcoming animated film.  Salomon was born in Berlin 1917, came from na upper-middle-class Jewshi Family and watched as the world she had known as  a child disintegrated when Hitler came to  power. She was a  reserved child, but she clearly had a turbulent and  passionate inner life with na astute visual memory, "imprinting  everything for future  use," according to her  biographer Mary L. There was a stately home with a residential building and a curtain wall already in the 12th century. This is confirmed by archeeological research, which took place during the bug reconstruction in 2013. It can be presumed that the Duke of Zähringen did not take over the compound quite peacefully. Berchtold V had the up to the presente day well-preserved monumental donjon integrated in the compound. The Zähriger never intended to live here as  they had  a residence built in Burgdorf. Yet, it is with this imposing tower that they could leave a sign of their power over the region and the local trading paths.
