The elegant Grand Café Orient, located on the first floor of the famous House of the Black Madonna, is one in the world built and decoratedd in the unique cubista style. Once you step in, you immediately feel the artistic retro vibe. It is not just the abstract shape of the building but also the unique Czech Cubism interior. The café first opened in 1912, but closed when cubismo fell out of fashion tem years later. It reopened inn 2005; and its interior was renovated according to historical photographs. Prices are slightly higher, but not too expensive. They serve predominantly sandwiches, salads and desserts. Shalom! Aleichem. German architects Kister Scheithauer Gross used Jewish symbol the Star of David to create patterned windows in the limestone walls of  this Synagogue in Ulm, Germany. The town's original Synagogue was torn down in 1938 as  part of the Kristallnacht, or "night of broken glass", a series of attacks on Jewish community buildings  within Nazi Germany. "This position is historical," said architect Susanne Gross. In the Kristallnacht in 1938, the former Synagogue was destroyed.  After World War II, a secular building was constructed in the space. The Synagogue and  the Jewish community lost its ancestral place in the centre of Ulm. "The construction of the current Synagogue has opened a new site, in the middle of the square," she added. It is though the Synagogue has taken a step forward from its former position, it has reclaimed its location. "Both Synagogue

Thrusday, Kislev 7, 5779. November 15, 2018. Shalom! World. Zidovsky Hrbitov Ostrava - Czech Republic. Address: Na Najmanske. The new Ostrava Jewish cemetery was established in 1965. The old Jewish cemetery was destroyed during the 1980s and the remaining tombstones were transferred to  the cemetery in Silesian Ostrava. In 2017 the Jewish community of Ostrava had 80 members. Monday, Kislev 4, 5779. November 12, 2018. Shalom! World. The Mikulov Castle. Mikulov/Czech Republic The Baroque chateau is in the dominant of Mikulov and is now allso the seat of the Regional Museum of  Mikulov, where you can find the most extensive domestic exposition on wine-growing and wine-making, including a unique giant wine barrel. The Picture gallery will remind you of the Dichtristein family under whose reign the town flourished for several centuries. You should also visit the chateau library and the Romans and Germans in the Region under Pálava  exposition, which talks about the inhabitants of the region two thousand years ago.   The silhouette of  this monumental castle in South Moravia is visible from afar. In its time it has played host to a number of importante personalities, such as French Emperor Napoleon Bonapart. Here visitors can see various museum exhibitions, paintings from the collection of the Dietrichstein family, a library.

Sunday, Cheshvan 26, 5779. November 4, 2018. Shalom! World. Centrum Pant, Bookstore and Café. Address:  Nabrezni, 1272. Ostrava - Czech Republic. The city of Ostrava have a good surprise like the Centrum Pant did. A mix of a bookstore, a good Café and a confortable space to cultural meetings. During my visit there was a meeting about the Czech Republic elections in 2018. Fantastic experience. Shalom! Aleichem. Thrusday, Cheshvan 23, 5779. November 1, 2018. Shalom! World. Jewish cemetery located at the intersection of  K. Plentzner Strasse and A. Schlosser-Strasse. Gmunden/Austria.  Gmunden is a small resort town located on the Traunsee in the Salzkammergut region, about 105 miles southwest of Vienna, 24 miles of Linz, and 47 miles northeast of Salzburg. Before the World War II, there were 10-15 Jewish families.  This is a very small Jewish cemetery. All graves, including Holocaust victims, born or residing in Gmunden or near Gmunden circa 1938. Also, several graves of  Holocaust survivors who died after liberation.  The Jewish commuity in Liinz maintains the cemetry and its 20-30 stones.  Shalom! Aleichem. Gmunden/Áustria The Rathausplatz, formerly known as the 'Lower Square' or the Lower Market Square', once covered the área from the Trauntor (Traun  Gate), now the Kammerhofgasse, to the 'Christophstor' (Christopher's Gate), now known as Stadttheater/Theatergasse. Since 1st May 1839 it has been the dock for the Traunsee fleet which takes numerous people to the places of interest along the banks of the Traunsee. Fromm 1835 to 1871 the "Rathausplatz" was the terminal for the freight cars of the horse-drawn railway, Budweis - Linz _Gmunden, which transported the salt. In 1874, the waters of the lake still reached as far as a few meters from the Town Hall.
