JACOB JR, MY JEWISH WORLD. KOLÍN SYNAGOGUE. KOLÍN - CZECH REPUBLIC
Tuesday, Adar 11, 5781. February 23, 2021. Shalom! World. Kolinska Synagogue. Na Hradbách 125. Kolín - Czech Republic. The second Oldest Synagogue in the Czech Republic. Jews resided in Kolín as early as the 14th century. The Synagogue, constructed in 1642, is the second oldest in the Czech Republic. By 1854 Kolín's Jewish community numbered 1,700. More than 2,202 Jews were deported from Kolín to Terezin by the nazis in 1942. About 105 survived the Shoah. The city of Kolín, one of the most important places of Jewish remembrance in the Czech lands, is worth a trip to see the small streets of the Jewish quarter and the magnificent cemetery. How lovely are the Tourism Office staff. You are unforgettable, thank you so much. Cultural Support: Jacob Jr. Benleumi, Advisor, Consulting and Education. International Relations Analyst.
