Shalom! World.
The Monument to the Victims of the Concentration Camp (Konzentrationslager) at Plaszow on the outskirts of the former concentration camp in Kraków/Plaszow in memory to the people killed by the nazis in this camp. Was created in 1964 by architect Witold Ceckiewicz. The limestone sculpture on reinforced concrete structure has done Richard Szczypinski.
The statue depicts five characters in the series, with their heads bent under the weight of the block in stone at breast height. On the back of the sculpture is the inscription: in honor of the martyrs murderd by nazis 1943-45. The statue was located on the shaft of the former austro-Hungarian military fortifications.
Square ground camp Plaszow and prisioners barracks were located approximately 400 meters north-east of the current monumento. Around the monument was made assumption with wide landscaped stairs and vegetation. The sculpture does not have any direct references to the identity of the people, or references in the form of the string to the same camp.
