Originally the house was three salt manufacturing houses - so called living towers. Over the centuries the three houses were converted into one and became the beer brewery market. Cargo boats transported the so called  White gold - the salt from Hallstatt ssalt  mountain to the black sea and returned with commodities such as grain, hops and malt - which were used to make the beer from Bohemian. In 1476 Emperor Maximilian gave the house the rights to brew and serve beer. Many a ravenous stomach was sated here in and over the years.



In 1914 all copper was confiscated for the war along with all the brewery utensils. After the First World War few were able to afford to  replace the utensils required for  brewing and were left no choice but to sell their brewing rights to a large Salzburg brewery, Stiegel.



Approximately around this time the grandfather of the actual owner, Josef Hoplinger was asked by his auntie who had no children to take over the Bräuhaus. He together with his wife Elfriede and later his son-in-law Arnold Lobisser & Verena with their talent for hand work were able to maintain and restore the house. With a lot of good taste, feeling and love for the building they succeded in making the Bräuhaus the charming treasure that it is today, which has been enjoyed and appreciated by many a guest from far and near. 


Since a few years Mag. Verena Lobisser with support from her family is running the Bräugasthof. Under the slogan "All stays diferent" we have concerts and auditions and it stays the traditional and popular space spot for guests and friends.

Sunday, Elul 21, 5781. August 29, 2021.  Shalom! World. Turnov Jewish Cemetery. Sobotecka,  Turnov - Czech Republic.  The Jewish cemetery in Turnov dates back to the 17th century. The land for a Jewish cemetery was purchased by Albrecht of Wallenstein as early as in the 1625 and the oldest surviving tombstone goes back to 1649. During its existence, it was expanded twice. The last burial took place here in 1956. At present, there is a bridge of the motorway passing through the town in the direction of Jicin over a part of the cemetery, which was planned in the late seventies and was constructed in 1987-91. Since 1994, the cemetery has been administered by Matana, a joint-stock company founded by the Federation of Jewish Communities for the purpose of caring for real estare.  Jewish cemeteries were usually located on slopes or otherwise unfavourable places that the christian society had little interest in.
