The house that belonged to Józef Mehoffer who was a student of Jan Matejko. More formal rooms of the house such as the drawing room and dining room are on the ground floor, while the more intimate rooms are on the upper floor. On the whole these are furnished with their original furniture, chandleliers, wall hangings, clocks, books and artworks, including numerous works by the artist - stained glass, oil paintings, decorative designs, drawings etc.
The most valuable of the collection include the stained glass works - Vita Somnium Breve; Caritas; Faith; Hope; Love; portraits of the artist's wife - the so-called 'Florentine' portrait or In the Summer House and portraits of other people e.g. Zofia Minderowa (The Rose of Saron); landscapessuch as the Vistula Near Niepolomice and Red Umbrella; designs e.g. Nature and Art (for the Palace of Art in Krakow) and Flowers (polychrome designs for the Treasury of Wawel Cathedral).
